WANT TO LEARN HOW TO CONDUCT A SUCCESSFUL JOB SEARCH?
Times have changed A LOT in my recruitment career and what once worked 20 years ago, the now term “Spray and Pray” which means sending your CV out to 100’s or even 1000’s of email IDs in the hope you will get an interview doesn’t work.
Unfortunately it puts job seekers in a worse position.. it gives hope that something will come of the emails, wastes precious time and gives the ego a big knock when the phone doesn’t ring.
Be conscious of the image you are giving employers, don’t create false hope for yourself and learn different techniques that yield more results than the “Spray and Pray” method.
Refrain from everything you want to do “ask for a job”. Instead learn if the companies you are applying to are a suitable fit for both yourself and the employer.
No matter who we’re in dialog with employers like their ego massaged as much as the job seekers do.
Try to make meaningful connections with your network and once you are confident grow that network.
Don’t rely on job boards and like we said last week, don’t rely on recruiters because we are in an “Employer Driven Market” which means that recruiters focus will be on the Employer rather than the Job Seeker
